Managing workforce operations at national scale requires accuracy across every moving part, from rostering and payroll to billing, contractor management and compliance. For this organisation, those processes had become harder to control as multiple business units, award structures and connected systems created increasing operational complexity.
iSOFT supported a long-term platform partnership focused on strengthening the core workforce operating environment. The engagement helped bring rostering, payroll, billing and compliance into a more unified digital foundation, improving data consistency, accelerating processing and reducing the manual workload across critical workforce operations.
The Challenge
Workforce operations were spread across multiple business units, states and award conditions, making everyday processes difficult to control at scale. Rostering, payroll, billing and compliance all depended on accurate workforce data, but the supporting systems were disconnected and required significant manual adjustment to keep information aligned.
This created pressure across critical operating areas, with payroll and invoicing cycles slowed by data inconsistencies, teams spending time correcting records between systems, and compliance risk increasing as award interpretation and workforce rules became harder to manage through manual processes. The organisation needed a stronger platform foundation to reduce manual intervention, improve data consistency and support faster, more accurate processing across rostering, payroll, billing and compliance.
Our Approach
iSOFT worked across the core workforce platform to stabilise, enhance and connect the systems supporting rostering, payroll, billing and compliance. The engagement focused on resolving integration gaps, improving data flow between enterprise systems and strengthening the operational foundation needed to manage a large, distributed workforce.
The platform was enhanced to support a unified operating environment across rostering, quoting, billing, contractor management, award interpretation, tailored invoice generation, employee records and payroll processes. This helped reduce the reliance on manual adjustments and gave teams a more consistent way to manage workforce information across business units.
By improving system integration and streamlining process flows, iSOFT helped create a stronger platform backbone for critical workforce operations. The result was a more controlled, accurate and scalable environment that could support faster processing cycles, better compliance confidence and more reliable day-to-day operations.

The Outcome
The modernised platform became a stronger operational backbone for a large, distributed workforce environment. By improving how workforce data moved across rostering, payroll, billing and compliance processes, the organisation gained a more reliable foundation for daily operations, stronger control over workforce information and greater confidence in the accuracy of payroll and billing activity.
Manual data adjustments were reduced by 40 to 50 percent, while payroll and invoicing turnaround improved by 60 to 70 percent. Data consistency across connected systems reached 99 percent, and the platform enabled 4,500 shifts to be autogenerated each day with 99 percent accuracy, supporting faster planning, fewer manual touchpoints and more reliable workforce operations at scale.
